LES Girl's Club Mural

New Painting in LES between 1st and 2nd ave on 1st street in a community garden:

Portrait of Ida B. Wells who was an early African American Activist who toured Europe extensively speaking out against the Lynch Laws. She was born into slavery and managed to get an education and become an accomplished and published writer after emancipation. A powerful voice in the early part of the struggle for African Americans to get their civil rights.
